Reading Jsoc has a unique blend of personality, which makes it a special place for all of its members. We appeal to a wide Jewish audience, catering for all strains of Judaism. We have a diverse range of members including Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, and YOU could be next!.
We hold many events across the term, including Friday night meals. We put on events for all festivals throughout the year; our Succah bar crawls, Chanukah parties and Passover meals are extremely popular. We have a range of social, educational and community related activities. We also welcome speakers to talk on a variety of issues and hold an extremely lively Southern region meal every year.
We are a very close knit society and have very strong links with the community and other Jsocs across the country. We are often invited by the community to member's houses for meals. Reading Jsoc enjoys the communities' relationship and will continue to embrace it.
The Jsoc attends many events across the country (including weekends away) which are held by other Jsocs and The Union of Jewish Students. This gives members a unique opportunity to catch up with old friends and make many new friendships.
Our Jsoc is close knit, fun, sociable and continually growing. We aim to provide you with a vibrant Jewish University life.
